Photography Remembers When All Is Forgotten

Ted Fines was born in Toronto, Canada and lives with his wife of 43 years, Chris, in Lincoln, Michigan. Ted's award-winning photography has been featured in many books (Coney Detroit by Katherine Young/Joe Grimm-Spring 2012, Detroit-Through Our Eyes-Fall 2009 and Boneyards-Detroit Under Ground by Richard Bak-Summer 2010) newspapers and magazines. He’s been featured in several suburban Detroit and northern Michigan gallery shows over the past ten years.

Ted is retired but remains busy teaching and holding workshops for beginning photography students. He also serves on many artistic and charitable boards in Northeast Michigan, such as Inspiration Alcona, Harrisville Art Council, SAMi (Sunrise Artists of Michigan), Art in the Loft (Alpena), MACNE (Lake Huron Discovery Tour) and Habitat for Humanity-NEMI.

The Wayne State University graduate was also one of the original members of EXPOSURE.DETROIT, the nation's largest free photography club and the founding member of The Detroit League of Photographers (DLOP).
