Deb Burr will open her studio and gallery to the public. She throws functional pottery, such as bowls, teapots and mugs on the wheel as well as makes hand built pieces including jewelry and ornaments. Over 300 pieces are on display and for sale. If you are visiting the Presque Isle Light Houses, it is south on the same road.
Whiskey Point Pottery is located at 9946 East Grand Lake Rd., Presque Isle, MI. 49777. East Grand Lake Rd. runs along the eastern shore line of Grand Lake and the western shore of Lake Huron. Driving north from Alpena, take a right at the Hide A Way Bar and Grill and continue for 8 miles. (2 miles past the entrance to the LaFarge Quarry.) If you are driving south out of Rogers City, turn left at Route 638. Take it to the end. Turn right and continue. It is 2.5 miles past the Post Office. The studio is hidden behind Lake Traditions Antique and Rustic Furniture Store. Look for the Heritage Route 23 sign at the mailbox.
