The Presque Isle District Library premieres the John Wayne Film Festival at the Rogers City Theater starting on Friday, September 15th at 7:30 pm through Sunday, September 17, 2017.  Friday evening features the classic, The Quiet Man co-starring Maureen O'Hara.

Saturday, September 16 at 2:00 pm features True Grit, the 1969 film classic co-starring Kim Darby and Glen Campbell.  This film introduces the audience to the character, Marshal Rooster Cogburn.  Then at 4:30 pm, The Cowboys  co-starring Bruce Dern, Colleen Dewhurst, and Slim Pickens.  The evening concludes at 7:30 pm with the film, Rooster Cogburn.  One of John Wayne's most memorable roles co-starring with Katharine Hepburn in this 1975 film classic.

The film festival concludes on Sunday, September 17 at 2:00 pm with the World War II film, They Were Expendable. The film was inspired by actual events.  Directed by John Ford, the film co-stars Donna Reed, Robert Montgomery, Jack Holt, and Ward Bond.

Freewill donation at the door.  All proceeds benefit library programs at the Rogers City Theater.
