The Presque Isle District Library presents a guided nature walk while learning how to photograph landscapes, lighthouses, plants and animals...using your cell phone, mobile device or digital camera.  Instruction includes a brief overview of cell phone and digital camera menus and operations.  The instructor will give tips on plant, animal and landscape photography.  

For four consecutive weekends in July, starting July 10 through July 31, Wayne Pope, Lansing Community College Adjunct Professor of Photography will lead 12 participants on nature walks to the following locations:  (In case of rain, walk will be canceled and monies refunded).  Pre-registration required.  Return registration form with payment to the Rogers City Library at 181 E. Erie Street or the Grand Lake Library at 18132 Lake Esau Highway, Presque Isle.

40 Mile Point Lighthouse, Saturday and Sunday, July 10 & 11 from 8:00 to 11:00 am

P.H. Hoeft State Park, Saturday and Sunday, July 17 &18 from 8:00 to 11:00 am

New Presque Isle Lighthouse, Saturday and Sunday, July 24 & 25 from 8:00 to 11:00 am

Thompson's Harbor State Park, Saturday, July 31 from 8:00 to 11:00 am

The fee is $10.00 per person/ per day at each location.  Proceeds will be donated to the location that is scheduled for that day.  

Children are free, and must be supervised by an adult.

You may want to bring a field guide, spotting scope and/or binoculars.  Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts can earn their photography merit badges too!
