INFORMATION ON TRAIL SECTIONS
Route: HOEFT STATE PARK TO HAMMOND BAY
Distance: 9 Miles
Access Sites: 03-15 & 03-18
Shoreline Land Use: Mostly waterfront residential
Points of Interest: 40 Mile Point Lighthouse; Sacred Rock between Hoeft SP, Forty Mile Point Lighthouse, and high bluff inland from coastline.
Rest Stops: 03-16 (forty Mile Point), 03-17 (Manitou Beach Road end)
Hazards & Cautions:
Comments: The Hammond Bay access site (03-18) is located on the road to Hammond Bay Research Station. There are several access sites along the way for rest stops and that can be used as alternatives for shorter trips.
Route: HAMMOND BAY
Distance: 7 Miles
Access Sites: 03-18 & 3-21 (Grace Harbor Road end)
Shoreline Land Use: Waterfront residential
Points of Interest: Hammond Bay Research Station, sand beaches, Ocqueoc River
Rest Stops: 03-19, 03-20
Hazards & Cautions: Rock and gravel bars jet out from shoreline.
Comments: There are several access sites along the way for rest stops and that can be used as alternatives for shorter trips. It is necessary to paddle a short distance up the Ocqueoc River to use the launch.
Route: GRACE HARBOR ROAD TO HAMMOND BAY STATE REFUGE HARBOR
Distance: 3.6 Miles
Access Sites: 03-21 & 03-23
Shoreline Land Use: Mostly undeveloped with some residential
Points of Interest: Sand beaches
Rest Stops: 03-22 MDOT right-of way
Hazards & Cautions: Rock and gravel bars jet out from shoreline

Route: HAMMOND BAY STATE REFUGE HARBOR TO JON KELDSEN ROADSIDE PARK
Distance: 5 Miles
Access Sites: 03-23 & 02-01
Shoreline Land Use: Waterfront residential
Points of Interest: Sand beaches
Rest Stops: No rest stops
Hazards & Cautions: Rock and gravel bars jet out from shoreline
