The Historical Alpena County Courthouse will be open for guided tours. Historical information will be provided about the structure. Opened on October 21, 1935, the Courthouse is an impressive, Art Deco public building and was likely the first public building constructed of poured Portland cement material in Alpena. The Alpena County Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places.
A professional violinist, Eric Lawson D.M.A. (Doctor of Musical Arts), will be at the Courthouse for live performances at 1:30; 2:00: 2:30 and 3:00 pm - each performance will be approx 10 minutes.
