LAND – Mother Earth as the Center of Spirituality (What the Soil Tells Us): Featuring the Naub-cow-zo-win Disks and Their Significance

The Oscoda Township Library will host a special presentation with guest speakers, Richard Clute, Curator of Anthropology at the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan, Alpena, and William Johnson, Curator, the Ziibiwing Center, Mt. Pleasant. The two speakers will address the topic of land, “Mother Earth as the Center of Spirituality (What the Soil Tells Us):  Featuring the Naub-cow-zo-win disks – Charms of Personal Significance.”

The Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan is providing a Native American traveling exhibit for display at the Oscoda Library. The exhibit consists of artifacts, three exhibit panels, and a video presentation with regional Native Americans sharing insights into their culture past and present.
