On July 13, 2011, Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary announced the discovery of two Great Lakes shipwrecks. The discoveries were part of Project Shiphunt, an exciting archaeological expedition, sponsored by Sony and the Intel Corp that included five high school students from Saginaw, Michigan and resulted in this documentary film.

Before and after the Project Shiphunt showing, get ready for the 2019 Thunder Bay International Film Festival (TBIFF) by purchasing an all-access "Thunder Pass" for the festival at the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center museum gift store. Get ready for this annual celebration of Ocean and Great Lakes films with your very own Thunder Pass - they also make great stocking-stuffers!

The 2019 Thunder Bay International Film Festival is happening January 23-27, 2019!
