Andrew Wolfgang

Join local high school teacher, Andrew Wolfgang, as he shares many opportunities to find unique birds in Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. He will describe how understanding the ecology and behavior of certain species is key to their conservation. Along with weather patterns and geography, he will talk about predicting the best times and places to see certain wildlife in the sanctuary. Andrew will share information on over 300 species and 20+ families of birds that are likely to show up along the shoreline or flying above Lake Huron. He will also briefly discuss some of the most controversial ecological issues surrounding colonial waterbirds nesting on northern Lake Huron’s islands.
