7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
As part of this year's Northeast Exposure series at the historic Rogers Theater, the Starling Shakespeare Company's five actor cast will bring a whirlwind of laughter and mistaken identity in the hilarious Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. Join us at the Rogers Theater on Thursday, August 21 at 7:30pm for this featured live theatre performance.
The Comedy of Errors is about two sets of twin brother, named in the same manner, are accidentally separated at a young age by a storm at sea. This is a classic Shakespearean comedy. The Starling Shakespeare Company's summer residence is on Mackinac Island. For one night only, they are leaving the island and heading over to Rogers City for a special engagement. As a touring theatre company, they explore the playfulness, complexity, and humanity in the plays of William Shakespeare. Onstage, the company considers the audience as collaborators in a shared theatrical experience.
Shakespeare's era of theatre was known for interactivity between the audience and the performers, and they embrace that tradition.
Prior to the performance, the public is invited to attend a Shakespearean workshop starting at 4:30pm at the Rogers Theater. Learn some of the skills of a Shakespearean actor. The workshop is free to attend for participants 14 years and older. Tickets for the evening performance are $10/person and may be purchased at the theater.
The 2025 Northeast Exposure Music Series is funded in part through the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan and the Friends of the Rogers City Library of the Presque Isle District Library.
The historic Rogers Theater is located at 257 N. Third Street, Rogers City, MI 49779
