The Mackinaw Area Annual Historic Festival is held on Friday evening, August 2, and all day Saturday, August 3. The free event takes place at Heritage Village, 1.5 miles west of Mackinaw City at 1425 Central Avenue. Step back into the 1880’s with vintage baseball games, period children’s games, tours of historic buildings (including a one room School House, the Pestilence or Quarantine House, the Mennonite Farm House, the Sawmill and the Historic Church). The days’ events are highlighted with live displays wagon rides, 1870s music, square dancing, Maypole dance, quilters, soap making and other activities.
