Located in the northern part of Thunder Bay, Isaacson Bay is a broad shallow bay bounded on the east by North Point and the west by Alpena. During low water periods extensive bottomlands are exposed. The exposed bottomlands flurish with herbaceious wetland plants that stabilize soils and create prime habitat for fish and wildlife.
